Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Kadri for two very good prospects, defenseman Zamula and forward Strome, high 3rd rounder and Gudas, coming off a good year and not a long term salary consideration.
Trouba for a young defenseman, near top of the league in hits and blocks in Hagg, very good goalie prospect in Sandstrom and a high 1st rounder.

Both moves help trading partners with cap and IMO balanced.

Not a bad shout...

Strome and Zamula are probably in the top 100 prospects at forward and top 100 prospects on defense right now.
The NJD 3rd is a pretty solid pick.
Strome has just turned pro and Zamula is under contract, both are very good prospects. Gudas is the help now for Toronto, and brings some goods they lack.

Laczynski is a solid prospect and retaining part of Gudas's salary would probably both be doable, but probably not both.

Stome, Zamula, the 3rd, Gudas and retain 1.3mil of Gudas's salary is probably fair (TOR saves 2.5mil in salary, gets two very good prospects and a solid physical defender for their third line center)

The Trouba trade isn't a good deal for Winnipeg nor does it make practical sense. They have their goalie of the present and future in Hellebuyck so I highly doubt they would want a prospect goalie coming back. If you're going to package a player with a 1st round pick for Trouba it would have to be someone with higher upside. Hagg is a one dimensional player and his hits and blocked shots stats are moot. Fletcher would have to consider moving a player like Myers with the 1st to land Trouba's RFA rights.

Possibly, but that's a lot to give up for rights, a high 1st rounder, a solid/cheap 3rd pairing defender and Sandstrom might not be the piece, (maybe forward Strome) but hes a very good prospect, but Myers instead of Hagg is a large price to pay, especially since WPG will have to move salaries.

I think a 1st, capable Hagg, a 4th and a good prospect like Strome is quite a good deal for "rights".

For me Trouba is a expensive ticket, that quite a few clubs couldn’t fit in salarywise.

The offer I put together: is a 1st (13th overall I think), and Hagg is worth a low 2nd IMO, and Strome or Sandstrom in trade would definitely catch a low 1st rounder or early 2nd, (and are closer to the pros), so really I see Trouba’s rights in this deal as:

Trouba’s rights for two 1sts, a 2nd and a 4th, that’s a pretty fair deal

I think Hagg's value sits more around a mid 3rd early 4th right now. But we all know GM's drool over guys like him and will gladly overpay. Myers while showing he likely has the tools to excel at the NHL is still an unproven commodity. You know what you're getting with Trouba, someone who can slide in and hopefully be Provorov or Sanheim's partner for the next 5-7 years and be a stabilizing first pair guy. As strapped as Winnipeg is with limited cap space I feel like they're only going to move his rights if a team offers them something that checks off a lot of boxes. Otherwise they may be content to let him sign a huge offer sheet and rack up a bunch of future 1sts. Again there is risk on that end to that Winnipeg loses him to team that contends in the short term and the picks turn out to be all late round firsts.
