it's fine they talked to Toronto they said "yeah, we can't let San Jose out the dust, and Thornton out the dust give San Jose the call"

Simply poor officiating there. Typical, unfortunately. Only people out of roughly 20,000 in that arena that didn't see it are the four guys getting paid to see it. Then it supposedly is not reviewable.

Petro lost that game though. 80 seconds left, halfway to the blueline, no one around him and he lazily ices the puck for the zone faceoff that tied it. He has the IQ of the vacuum in space. I cannot wait to get rid of him.

Nah we lose the series 4-1 because NHL deems that Rigging it to San Jose is best scenario...

Yet another argument for more extensive replay.

When a protest is lodged at the time of the on-ice ruling, plays like this should be subject to review. It's that simple. The "conclusive evidence" standard will still restrict abuse.

Plus, any overtime goal should be reviewable on all aspects.

Did his hand slapping the puck give a clear advantage to the goal...the answer is no. Was he intentionally passing the puck or slapping it down....the answer is too hard to say.

You are correct. However, the rules state the puck is whistled dead when a hand pass is made to another teammate. The teammate who touched it didn't score the goal. He passed it to Karlsson who scored. Whistle should have been blown; pass to Karlsson and goal is moot. The rule says nothing about intent.

Fan of neither team, but admittedly biased against San Jose. That was a garbage non-call. Ridiculous the calls that have gone their way this playoff year.

Id go easy on him. Having 5 defense for the majority of the game tires you out

He wasn't passing it, he was knocking it down to his own blade on his knees. Way too hard of a call to reverse the goal.

Bay area versus Boston Harbor area has a lot more t.v. sets than Raleigh and St. Louis. It's a common argument with plausibility, but I just find it hard to believe that there would be league-official collusion. Perhaps I am naive. Terrible non-call though nonetheless.

It wasn't a clear hand pass, it's pretty clear to me after watching replays over and over, he was trying to knock down the puck to his own blade on his knees. Unless it's a clear hand pass, reversing that goal would have had people up in arms as well.

Not to mention that ticky-tacky offside's call against Colorado in that serie's Game 7.

And you (or the refs) can clearly support this assessment how?
