Team: 2019-20 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2019
Published: May 16, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lee almost for certain resigns, Nelson is highly likely as well.
Realistically, Eberle likely takes a glance at the market. In this build I assume he moves on.
The Islanders try and move on in some respect whilst upgrading. They do this by exchanging players with teams with opposite needs.

Trades
1.
NYI
  1. Drouin, Jonathan
Additional Details:
This is a replacement piece to Eberle, while being a slight upgrade. Drouin is who MTL is more likely to shop, and if they get the defenseman back that suits the direction they wish to go, they will make this move.
Neither team takes on additional cap in this move.
MTL
  1. Leddy, Nick
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (NYI)
2.
NYI
  1. Turris, Kyle ($1,500,000 retained)
  2. 2019 5th round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Turris value is very low right now, especially given his contract. Nashville will look to move him, but he certainly still has bounce back appeal. NYI can take a gamble on him.
NSH is a team built around the game Cizikas plays. He would fit perfectly there.
3.
NYI
  1. Lewis, Trevor
Additional Details:
A discount version of Cizikas.
LAK
  1. Aho, Sebastian
  2. 2020 5th round pick (NYI)
4.
NYI
  1. Trouba, Jacob [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Here's the big, potentially surprising trade. Pulock would be what WPG naturally wants back, but NYI gives the next best alternative. Two low salary players that fit into WPG's long term plan. Given that there are no insanely high potential prospects in this, Ho Sang is there as a fading potential forward with some NHL potential.
WPG
  1. Beauvillier, Anthony
  2. Ho-Sang, Joshua
  3. Mayfield, Scott
  4. 2021 3rd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
*3rd becomes a 2nd if the Islanders reach the third round of the playoffs OR win their division.

Really like all the signings and trades, well thought out and realistic, something not always found in droves on this site. As a WPG fan I think they might want a slightly better defenseman back in the deal (Pulock would be coveted but a tough sell for NYI) even if it meant giving up the pick they are receiving.

Turris trade is REALLY interesting. Would hate breaking up TBFLE but that is worth considering

Don't get the Trouba trade. We're full up on RD and have 2 high level RD prospects coming in. Turris is an
interesting move and I'd be open to moving Beauvilier for him or Bellows and a pick or something. I don't think Drouin is the move to make either.
