PHILLY with Trades

Created by: Hammerwise
Team: 2019-20 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 16, 2019
Published: May 16, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Zaitsev = Gudas, (slight edge to PHI)
Kadri = Patrick and CAR 3rd (even-ish)
Kapanen = Hagg, (solid 3rd pairing, near league leaders in hits and blocks), Strome (very good forward prospect) and 1st (13th overall)
Overall, saves TOR 6mil, replaces Kadri with Patrick, replaces Zaitsev with Gudas and Hagg, adds two good picks and a very good forward prospect (who is probably worth a late 1st at this point)
The PHI 1st is probably way over the top and unbalances deal

You're right, its probably closer without the 1st and 3rd, maybe just a 2nd instead. I think it works for both teams though

Why would Phillybtake Zatisev for 4.5 for 5 years. He’d be our next MacDonald. Isn’t one enough?

Kadri is an undisciplined headcase.....no interest

Kapanen i would love to have but not at the inflated he’s a Leaf price.

True its weighted too heavily with the PHI picks.

Zaitsev is a solid dman whos signed for 1-2 yrs too long, but I think he and his contract is a slight edge in PHI's favour over UFA to be Gudas, who played surprisingly clean and well last year.

I think with Farabee, Frost, O'Brien, it makes Patrick (and his underwhelming performance so far) susceptible. You're right with kapanen, he has been overvalued in TOR, and I think in a Patrick versus kapanen, its a slight edge to TOR.

Kadri can be an issue, but hes still young and has shown top 6 offense. Hagg is surplus, but a solid 3rd pairing/7th guy and Strome is a good forward prospect, but PHI has tons of forward prospects.

SO Kadri, Kapanen and Zaitsev for Patrick, Gudas, Hagg and Strome

Gudas or Hagg and a pick for Kapanen. No interest in moving Patrick for Kadri. Zatisev I have no interest in at all.

Zaitsev's contract is an albatross that you want nowhere near this organization. Kapanen for Gudas Strome and a 3rd is fairly reasonable. Nolan Patrick's potential makes that current deal severely lopsided in Toronto's favor.

I don't think Fletcher considers moving TK for at least another 2 years. I fully expect him to sign some type of bridge deal for 2 years in the $4M AAV range. He's the exact kind of forward they're going to need in the playoffs.....when they get back.

At this point I think if MacDonald has no place in the lineup next season they might just buy him out. No sense in giving up picks for a team to eat the last year of that contract.
