RNH = more than just Risto.
If Reinhart is off limits, than something else.
Sabres & ED can do business..-~

I don’t understand why there are so many RNH trades for Risto. RNH is worth so much more!

Or... just continue to play one of the elite defensemen in the league. I have no idea where this hot take came from that the Preds somehow HAVE to trade PK. Preds don't have to get out of his salary, certainly not for the '19-20 season.

Predators don’t have to get rid of his salary is the problem. They could clear out grandlund/smith + one of bonino/jarnkrok/sissons and afford to give duchene 8.75M next season. They could just trade Ellis for futures or Josi for a bounty of futures. Subban is still a very good defensemen and Nashville isn’t going to be forced to trade him for what amounts to a ECHL player (Stephens), a 1 year rental rhd we don’t need or want (Bogo), a late 1st, and a forward prospect failing to live up to his draft position

He had a sub par season and is now on the wrong side of 30.
You are going to have to take bad salary back to make it work. And just “dumping” those players you listed means you’re taking what then amounts to below value return.

It's not as much the "hey here's a virtually useless overpaid 1 year capdump". It's more of "hey here's a bunch of other crap that doesn't help your team unless you happen to get lucky late in the 1st round". I think Poile is going to look to majorly overhaul the offensive group. UFA to be wingers Smith and/or Granlund will likely be traded since we won't have the room to extend them anyways as all capspace will be taken up by extending Josi (that is unless he decides to trade Josi instead). One of Josi/Subban/Ellis will likely be traded as well. There are several teams that need a RHD that can move the puck and play top pairing minutes so my personal bet would be Ellis since Subban will be harder to move due to his caphit.
