If Tkachuk Takes A Bridge 2

Description
The Zucker and Neal trades were part 1 trades as well but I forgot to put that in the details. Hall takes a small discount like Tavares to come home. Gio trade is just spitballing because I don't know much about MTL prospects

Bridge just means a player is taking a contract that takes to another RFA contract....not to right to UFA. It doesn't mean a player is going to take substantially less money than what he should be making on a five year deal.

Calgary get expect those returns of those high price "dumps". Teams generally don't take so much money in a deal without sending money back.

Not sure what you mean by this. It's a 3-year deal I took a year off of because this is year 2 and he would only be 24 and still an RFA when it expires...

Yes, you made a bridge deal. But he he really signing for just 4m is the question," just" because it's a bridge? On this site we have so many posts thinking Kapanen gets offered sheets at 4m for 2nd compensation. Don't you think a 4m offer from Flames gets a better offer from some other team?

If he gets an offer sheet than we'll match it but this is just if he agrees to take a bridge to allow us to make a splash in FA

Anaheim laughs. You can keep Janes Neal on his overpaid contract.

Tkachuk is not getting bridged for 4 mil. I would be embarrassed offering that to such an important player.

I think it would take more to get 1st overall/Hughes. Those picks don't come easily. Would probably take Tkachuk + prospect/pick.

Not sure about any of the trades, but I like the thinking to seriously look at moving Gaudreau and Giordano, as well as serious FA signings.

Actually, the Fourth Period said Anaheim and Jersey were interested in giving Neal a mulligan at a low price

Interesting. Seems like either money would have to go back the other way or Calgary would need to retain.
