It is crazy how deep a hole EDM is in with salary cap - when it takes all these deals and they are still up against the cap.

No way Minnesota makes that deal. Spurg is worth way more than that.

Even worse for Oilers....Sekera doesn't waive for Ottawa, Ericsson doesn't waive for Edmonton, Don't understand the Spurgeon deal , the out of playoffs Oilers giving up picks and prospects for a one year rental.
The Leaf trade has possibilities.

I think your underestimating Caleb jones, also spurg is on a 1 year deal.

The only trade I can see the Leafs making for Larsson is something along the lines of

Zaitsev and Kapanen for Larsson and something.

I don't know your prospects enough but a ELC with size and speed would be desirable.

Anything else doesn't make sense mainly because of cap reasons and also Larsson is just a better version of Zaitsev.

I think Sekera will waive, I don't think he likes it there and he knows next year he won't get many minutes on the oilers.

Um, 2 of the deals ADDED salary and a third was cap-neutral.

MN is open to moving him and he was born and raised in Edmonton. I guess the thinking is he'll sign an extension in Edmonton?
