The Jets are getting hosed in that deal! The Vegas deal would work though I think.

To be honest, that's probably my fault for not hating Risto as much as most people do. Taking on Perreault's cap for a couple of years has to be worth something though. What do you think can be done to make it a more fair trade?

Right now Risto doesn’t hold as much value cause of his poor defensive play. Depends on how you see him though I guess. If you aren’t very fond of him, like I am not then you could say that yes Buffalo is taking on Perreault but do the Jets want to pay a Dman that struggles in his own zone and pay him that much?

Vegas only need to get rid of one contract, probably Miller for a 2nd, they have enough defensive prospects

Wow, I don't think the Vegas deal is fair. In fact, we give them nothing of value to them and take one of their best centers, even though we take Clarkson's contract. The Winnipeg deal's not bad.

My thought was that Larsson could help to cover some of the defensive zone faceoffs as well as penalty killing responsibilities that Karlsson had. Nylander should be able to step into the lineup full-time next season with decent second line winger potential. It would depend how Vegas views his potential, obviously. A first round pick isn't nothing either.
Either way, Vegas is in cap trouble so either Karlsson is gone or some other bodies will have to be moved.

Larsson of course is good for the fourth line, but he doesn't have great value, Nylander has the potential and talent, but until he's either injured, or not stable, I don't see how he breaks into the NHL in Vegas next season, the Vegas great wings in the top 9. The first round of course there is, but this is the end of the round. If really can get the Karlsson for this package, I would say that Botterill good work.
