MTL isn't trading Suzuki for Brodin... The only possible way that a trade involving a stud like Zuke happen, is for a top LHD or a top RW... Brodin is nothing special, really overrated actually. So big no from MTL

Any examples? Who's a "top LHD" you'd be willing to move in exchange to Suzuki and is realistically available?

I think Columbus would pass. Rask is a solid 3rd line center but we have Jenner who is just as good and on a better contract. So unless Sokolov is something special that I don’t know about, Nutivaara would be staying in Columbus.

There is not really a ton that I'd want to trade Suzuki for... The risk is too big honestly. I don't like trading top prospects for older players who aren't stars... McDonagh is the greatest exemple of all.

Fair enough. Figured that Suzuki would be a great piece for MTL to move though, considering they already have a good load of future assets that can play C (Kotkaniemi, Domi, Poehling, Danault) etc.

Concerning is position, I strongly believe that he'll be used as a RW still being able to take faceoff depending on where it is. Those kind of players are valuable

Exactly, Suzuki has actually spent a decent amount of time on the wing in junior and isn't exactly strong on faceoffs. He'll at least start his pro career on the wing.

The Columbus deal is the equivalent of CBJ offering Minnesota:
Wennberg ($1.2m retained), Stenlund and a 3rd for Brodin or Spurgeon.

CBJ playoff hopes were shaky without Murray to begin with, but with Nuti out, they were definitely done

If he's out there I'd consider trading him for Cam Fowler but in that scenario ANA would probably want Romanov

Columbus laughs and hangs up the phone. Rask is bad.

Except Brodin and Spurgeon are better than Nutivaara.

And Wennberg is better then Rask.... what’s your point? Both trades are equity as bad.

Probably. Fowler can't really be considered as available due to his NTC with 4 team trade list.

I like all four (now) of your trades with the proviso that I agree with others that Montreal probably doesn't want to trade Suzuki. (Wonder if they'll pick his brother?) But I think any trade involving Spurgeon may have to include a pick conditional upon his re-signing.

Hard pass from Dallas on the Zucker deal. You want Honka for a 6th rounder, now we are talking. Dallas is gonna need more bang for $5mil and can’t Afford the 1st.

Actually that deal was suggested by DAL fan. And as a DAL fan, I'd like that deal if we don't re-sign Zucc.

I just dont think Buffalo will give up on Nylander yet. His potential is higher than Ek so if they make the trade out of inpatience and Nylander thrives, they will look like fools
