I think you've been reading three-year-old copies of Hockey Weekly. Johnson and Subban are not what the Wild need this time.

Aberg won’t be qualified and that is an overpayment for Eriksson Ek.

I looked at ek as a similar situation to wennberg in CBJ piece for the future that you can lock up for term and cheap now. Have it be a steal of a deal down the road or just a manageable deal to trade

It's a massive over payment if you look at their numbers. Here are their stats at the end of their ELCs (both through age 22 season):

Wennberg - 217 GP, 25 G, 94 A , 119 P, 16:43 ATOI
Eriksson Ek - 148 GP, 16 G, 21 A, 37 P, 12:51 ATOI

Wennberg scored 13 goals and had 59 points in his 3rd season. That's more assists than Eriksson Ek has career points and only 3 fewer goals than Eriksson Ek's career total. They're nowhere close to comparable IMO. If he doesn't make some significant steps, that would be an expensive contract to trade or buy out.

Also, if you're giving him that stupidly expensive contract, why would you put him at 3RW? That doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. He's not a RW. He's played LW a very small amount and did next to nothing while there.
