Description
Wondering what people think the value of Krug is?

I think boston is going to trade him this offseason as he only has one year left and will command to much money that Boston won't be able to afford. What are peoples thoughts on his value?

He would be a fit in MTL for sure, but the price must be high for division rival. I'd say the habs certainly put a 2nd round, a decent prospect not named poehling or suzuki (Ylonen, Ikonen, Olofsson, Fleury, Juulsen) and maybe a roster player (Lehkonen, Armia ?). I dont know of this seal the deal, but its a starter.

Its the same situation as Trouba right so no one will give much for him apparently when they could just wait the season and get him at UFA without giving up any assets, so a 2nd rounder with a B-grade prospect for Krug maybe?

I actually wasn’t a very big fan of Krug until watching him in the playoffs this year. He has really impressed me so far but that being said with one year left he will probably command a first round pick and a B level prospect from a contender

Not an awful offer Id just think the Bruins would want quality>quantity. The Bs would be interested in a guy like Thomas (who seems pretty untouchable) and Schenn, since both are upcoming UFAs Im wondering if some sort of swap between Schenn and Krug would work, pieces would have to be added here and there but I feel like something like that would be close. It would make Dunn very expendable and the Blues could net something pretty good in return for him

Avs fans are having the same discussion about Barrie. I would say Barrie and Krug have pretty similar value for the most part.
The Avs obviously won't be trading for Krug but for comparison, the Avs might offer Kerfoot and a 2nd round pick.

I wouldn’t write Krug off out of Boston just yet. I think if the bruins win the cup this year then maybe he’ll move on but he really loves it here and he knows he’s a huge part of this team. Sweeney also got Marchy and Pasta signed for cheaper than market value so I wonder if Krug will take somewhere between 6-6.5.

If not then he’s most certainly going to sign with Detroit. He grew up in Michigan and they’re a team that’s on the come up and can use a game changing offensive dman. In terms of trade, you’ll get rental value for Krug. So a first/second round pick and a prospect. Teams won’t pay a blockbuster type for a player with 1 year left when they can wait to try to sign him in free agency. I also don’t think the bruins will trade Krug. Assuming they make the playoffs again next year, I think they’d want to keep him for a playoff run. I hope he stays but if we win this year, then I won’t be surprised that he moves on.

FWIW Detroit is heavily linked to Torey Krug, There's some suggestion that he might be willing to come home. Sounds like Yzerman will pursue him in free agency in 2020 if not sooner.

Since becoming a full-time NHLer in 2013-2014, Krug ranks 10th among all d-men in points and 5th in PPP. Boston is in win now mode, so their going to want young NHL ready talent back. Krug also loves it in Boston, he's very respected in the locker room. Wouldn't be surprised to see them get an extension done and then use some of their young LHD to make moves.
