I know he hasn't scored much but the games where Fabbri has played in the playoffs he's definitely stood out to me, wonder if he'll ever get back to be the player he was before his injury.

Fabbri was on pace for such a great career before his injury. Then again so was maatta. Injuries derailed both their careers. I think this is a very solid idea for both sides. I really like this trade

We still have Walman and can re-up Butler or Del Zotto (or Gunny, but he is hurt too often for my taste at his price range). There are also other cheaper, more mobile D-men we can chase via trade or free agency. Not that I get a vote, but dealing for Maatta (who makes $4M, mind you) is a big fat no from me.

Then you Meats, Edmundson, Dunn and Bouwmeester. 3 of those guys make over 3 mil a year. Do you really want 4 LHD to take up 10+ mil in cap space if you're going to bench one at all times? And while yes this happened this year with Gunnarson, he was injured most of the time and he was strictly a depth move. Not sure you want to get Maata, who makes more than all the other LHD, and will probably be your 4th best d-man. If you want depth, resign Gunner to a lesser amount than 4 mil
