Kapanen for Greenway 1 for 1 has been thrown around a lot on here by both Wild and Leafs fams. I think it's fair and fills both team's needs.

Down. But since people may argue that I just traded him for picks

I think Brown goes for less, 4th round pick seems more realistic. I think Kadri could get a bit more, he's a solid 2C. Maybe make the Calgary pick their 1st? Not super sure on that one. I don't know enough about DeMelo to comment on the Ottawa deal.

Brown Gets at least a 3rd, wouldn’t be surprised if he got a 2nd, Yeah I agree on Kadri Trade, and Demelo is an average Bottom pair guy I think, looked like a #4 guy in OTT but that’s mostly because who they have to compare him to lol

I know he is but when Dermott comes back he goes into the bottom 6 pairing. Moves Realistic to you?

Brown Probably goes to EDM instead of COL, TOR should get more value back for Kadri either 3rd becomes 1st or a good prospect, OTT deal seems about right and Kappy probably brings back more value too, and Johnsson probably gets less term and therefore a little less $$, I think the moves are right just value needs some work, also I would prefer to move Johnsson and keep Kapanen

The trades are fair, maybe we could get better for kappy. I would target Bratt, greenway or Maybe even cruise if he would sign a cheap 1 year deal.

Yes yes... they’ll all tell you he gets 4m when you sign him cheap but try and trade him and he’s worth squat.

Until he is signed (making him ineligible for a trade for a year), or the Leafs make moves to ensure they can sign all of their RFA's, Kapanen has value equal to what offer sheeting him would cost, in this scenario a 2nd, even though he should be worth more. Their is some value in removing the Leafs ability to match, but I don't see that as being worth a 3rd, maybe a 5th because anything more is bad asset management. Trading him for a player is the better option, because players values aren't set.

fair enough. In your opinion do you think these trades are realistic?

I like it almost all of it. I wouldn't sign Chariot. We need to keep some room for our youth to come up, saves 2m. And I agree on the Kap for Greenway. We would get a big left winger who is cheaper. So no Chariot, trade Kap for Greenway and this looks really solid. Good job smile

Probably underselling on the Kadri trade put it's close enough, Brown seems almost like a bust or glory trade for EDM so even if I'm not sure what Brown should get it doesn't seem wrong, I can't find a reasonable argument against the Zaitsev deal although that might just be that I have trouble seeing Ottawa in a cap pinch before his contract is up and Demelo isn't the answer there.

I agree but with Chariot is he puts up 15-20 points but plays good D and blocks shots like crazy which could really benefit our team. I know we have Liljigren and Sandin coming up and realistically I can see Sandin playing next year and Liljigren in another year. So basically a dcore of: Rielly-Muzzin if resigned next year, Sandin and Dermott and Chairot with Liljigren until he's ready for top 4. I see a future pairing of Sandin and Liljigren if all goes planned.

Leafs certainly are weaker at centre and LW. Is Jankowski a 3C, cause if he is, the Flames wouldn't do that deal. Brooks likely isn't NHL ready. Both Timishow and Marchment in the starting four LW?

Well one of them most likely timoshov when hyman returns. I see a position of the 4th line LW up for grabs even when he comes back.
