RFA sign and trades don't happen... UFA sign and trades seriously don't happen. Plus, now with the week long discussion time between the draft and 7/1... UFA sign and trades will never happen.

In the past a team might trade a mid pick for someone's UFA rights to get that extra shot at signing them before 7/1. But now with the open discussion time even that doesn't happen. At some point BEFORE the draft, someone might give you a 7th for the rights to both Bobrovsky and Panarin just for the slight extra time to really talk to them... but that's about it.

Sign and trades don't happen and they are as likely as Skinner signing in Columbus.
