Initial Creation Date: May 21, 2019
Published: May 21, 2019

Description
I don't have time to search all the Detroit posts to see what your opinion is, so I thought I'd pose the question here:

Is Detroit interested in trading Mike Green this summer and, if so, what type of return are they looking for?

Not to many contender teams have 5.3 to spend without giving money back to Wings. And even at that, there's his NTC. My opinion is Green should get healthy, play well and maybe at TDL he goes for his last chance at a Cup and Wings get a nice returns in futures.

I know you aren't a Wings fan, but what sort of return do you think Green is worth?

Assuming that he is healthy. A good prospect and second rounder to a team that thinks he's a difference maker for a year.
How's this theory. I'm on the trade Nylander bandwagon....mostly for cap reasons. Green...half retained and two of the Wings second rounders for Nylander.

I don't think the Wings would be the problem. It would be Green he has a NTC until Feb. 1 2020 then it's a 10 team no trade list. But you can get that info by clicking on his name.

So knowing what team wants him would be a must.

Yeah right now Mike Green has a full NTC until February 1st 2020 and then it becomes a 10 team no trade list, Seriously doubt Mike Green would waive until the TDL next year. He loves playing in Detroit and had even said that he'd love to finish his career there. He has a liver virus which caused him to miss close to half of the season. Not sure of his health status yet for next season. Like Palhal had suggested a good prospect+2nd should be a reasonable ask for Mike Green assuming he's healthy next season.

I do think Green gets traded at the TDL if not sooner. But I do think if Toronto wants him you might have to trade a different player to the Wings. The Wings aren't going to give up two 2nd rd picks because they are still rebuilding. Nylander is a good player but expensive, if he came to Detroit he would be the highest paid player on the team. Detroit has some players to resign and I think resigning AA, Mantha and Bertuzzi are the first priority.

Wings aren’t hurting for cap space that trades a steal

I agree that is a really low price for Nylander and I'm sure you could get far more for him. Detroit is still rebuilding and isn't far enough along to be trading picks unless its for more picks or better picks.
