So the Flames give up a player who just scored 99 pts who has term left on his deal and their first for a guy without term? Can't see it.

Would it make more sense to drop the conditional 1st, and assume Hall resigns or the Devils let Hall talk extension before the trade. So it would be (hypothetically extended) Hall for Gaudreau, Neal, and Rychel.

I made a Hall for Tkachuk+ Neal trade but people said that Tkachuk wasn't moving; thought Gaudreau might be available.

If Calgary wanted to move Johnny Hockey (a big if) I wouldn't do anything other than Hall for Gaudreau even up. (I wouldn't do that trade either if I was Calgary even if it was a straight trade.) I get you're trying to move Neal, but just package Kylington with him and a pick. Kylington is a nice player and the pick would interest many.

Johnny Hockey for Hall straight up is the closest I'd personally do. I'd rather keep Gaudreau if I was Calgary. Just package Neal with Kylington and a solid pick.
