I'm pretty sure Marner declined a $9M offer immediately... he's gonna make at least $10M so there's no way he's gonna settle for $8.5

Ya I don't understand these arm chairs that have Johnsson and Marners contracts below the prices that have publicly rejected already

Marner whether he deserves it or not he is getting at least 10.45mil for a term over 4 years.

What about that miller trade. Trading for a 40 point RHD under good contract for 3 more years will cost more then scraps and you get a pick. Need to add alot more and get rid of brown and Brooks because they dont want them.

They would want Naz instead of brown and make that 3rd to a 5th. Miller is not the answer to the leafs problems, he is not physical and is not a defensive defencemen.

You need to take into account the term. Johnsson may have turned down 2.5 over 3 years, but would he turn down 2.1 over 2? I doubt it. As for Marner, I expect the parties to be at an impasse and ultimately settle on a bridge. Kucherov got 9.5 on a long term deal so i imagine Marner would be amenable to 8.5 over 3 years and then get his big pay day on his next deal once the cap clears up.

That was an error. I meant to trade Bracco instead of Brooks.

You are going to be drastically disappointed when Marner signs for A LOT more then 8.5. Bridge deal will begin with Kucherove figure X 4 or less years.
