2019 Draft day and free agency

Created by: RicXX
Team: 2019-20 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2019
Published: May 22, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Since I don't see many moving the #3 pick I will take a run at the thought process. Panarin return is my dream add. Please keep it thoughtful and meaningful in the comments, productive conversation is good for us all and who knows someone on the teams may be reading :-) Some players kept to see how the season starts but are big targets for TDL moves.

If Byram is off the board I think the Avs would take Turcotte at 4

Some good, some bad. I’m actually not against trading down, considering we’re still guaranteed to end up with someone I personally want (Byram, Cozens or Turcotte). Getting one of Panarin or Dzingel would be awesome and I like the lines, but Dzingel will sign for at least $2 million more and (hopefully) for a year less. Not a fan of the Saad trade; not only would I prefer to keep him, but I’d also want a top 4 d-man in return for him, even if it’s just a 1 for 1.

Its not bad. Dzingel is underpaid by 2ish million. The only team we should trade 3 to is COL so we can get at least one of Turcotte or Byram and a couple picks. Id also not trade saad he was doing great driving play on his own line. I love Panarin but if we sign him we cant afford Debrincat/Strome so thats a no go.

LA isn't going to accept that trade. They are just starting to rebuild and draft picks are way too important.

Can't see any team wanting to give up a 2nd and 3rd rounder for the very meh Perlini. Same with Saad, three seconds rounder for a rebuilding team seems way too much. Sens can spend 6m on other player(s) and keep their picks

I dont get what your aiming for here . Your leaving 8.5 in cap space unused . You have not improved the defence at all . SAAD for 3 seconds would be great if we were rebuilding or overloaded with depth but giving him away for second round pics { takes on average 3 to 4 years to develop and play pro . } Where will JT, KANE , KEITH , SEABROOK be when the seconds are ready . By not addressing the D your not contending for this year . Your pics are longterm pics on a team with an aging core . Does not make sense short term or long term there is no logic unless your trying to rebuild and aim for contention 3 to 5 years from now .

I said it left some players in place for the summer and TDL. This by no means the final team to start the season but leaving some room to play with. The move of Saad for picks gives more options to trade with not just draft with, the acquisition of assets is always a good thing.

The trade to LA: is a balance out for the picks LA has to move up.
