I would have to agree. Certainly at least a slight edge to vrana. I din’t Understand that trade unless you are looking to swap a RW for a lw. If so I would look for a player still on elc like greenway or Bratt. Maybe Crouse would be an okay target but only if he is willing to sign a cheap bridge.

I don’t see the caps giving up Jensen.

I actually thought that trade looked fair. I would take out Borgman as he is on a one way deal and I don’t think the owners would want to pay his salary in the ahl.

Caps aren't going to give up Jensen, because all indications are that he's going to replace Niskanen in our top 4. Niskanen is probably a cap casualty.

Vrana is basically untouchable. We're not moving two NHL level assets for futures. We're not rebuilding/retooling, so there's no need to make that trade. Especially trading Vrana, who's our best young forward talent.

Really? Their stats are virtually identical. The only variation seems to be that Vrana is used on the PP more and Kapanen is on the PK and Vrana isn’t. I think I’d take Kapanen for the PK factor and he throws his body a bit more.

I think Carolina certainly needs a 2C centre. Staal isn’t garbage but that’s a huge drop off from Aho to Staal. I’m not saying Kadri is the solution to the centre depth while others develop(Gauthier) but a centre is definitely a need. With that said, the 2C centre you do acquire needs to be cost effective to even out the fact that you have a 6m centre in the third line.
