Description

IMO both of these trades make sense as Rasmus Andersson is poised to take a top-4 spot in Calgary along with Giordano, Hanifin, and Brodie. This means Hamonic is an odd man out who plays a top-4 role and they also need a goalie and while injury prone, Luongo is still an effective goaltender when healthy and whose experience can help them in the playoffs. The Reimer deal is due to the fact that no-one will likely sign in Ottawa as a goaltender because FA's don't want to go there due to the obvious tirefire that is their front office. This causes them to trade for Reimer and allows the Cats to clear some space in the process.

True, but with Florida State Taxes it would even out with the contract.
Kucherov got a similar deal and he's arguably worth more so that was a decent comparable.
