Just realized nobody else had made a "Panarin to Colorado" mock, so here goes.

It's pretty basic, I used Evolving Wild's predictions for contract value.

Corey Pronman has Byram at #4 and York at #16, so I created those players too, although I left them off the roster. I have a feeling that Zadorov and Cole won't get new contracts 2 years from now...

You'll find yourself in a Leafs cap crunch in 4 years when Nate-Dog's contract is up. Imagine being that good and locked up for 4 more years at 6.3M.

I think all your contracts are a bit off but its the gist of what the team would look like with a couple alterations. I don't see us bringing in sheahan as we have so many depth centers already and kamenev & kaut in the system. Odds are Panarin will want to play with Mack as well, as i don't think he would come here to play with papa sodes.

Also i do hope we can land byram but if we do who is the d man that is the odd man out next season?

Where to begin?

Draft: No chance they draft 2 D men. If they get Byram at #4 then they take a forward at #16.

UFA: Sheahan is not gonna happen. They will ink Kamenev from RFA and he will likely centre the 4th line. You've paid more for Panarin than the Avs will likely offer. I can't see him getting more than $10M from the Avs.

RFA: Mikko, love the kid. Isn't getting north of $10M. $9-9.5M will be where he lands. You've overpaid Compher and underpaid Zadorov and Kerfoot who will be both be around the $4M per mark. Andrighetto doesn't return.

Carl Soderberg will not be 2C next season and Compher won't be further up the chart than either Kerfoot or Jost.

Read team explanation, but in reality I think Zads gets around 4M and Kerfoot gets 3.5 and JTC gets 3ish.

Soderberg at 2C still hurts my eyes. We should draft Byram and trade Barrie for a legit 2C. Protect Girard, Makar, and EJ(because of NMC) during the Seattle expansion draft. Then bring Byram up the following season.

Avs have Makar, Girard, Timmins age 20. Zadorov 24. Barrie 27.. why would they need to draft 2 D in the first round when talented young D is their strength?
