Too much for Backes Dump. You can get the pick or Bjork, but not both.

Not nearly enough for Hall (especially with JFK going to Sweden to play)

Hall would cost - Debrusk + Picks/addition prospects and/or Vaakanainen, Frederic + -- Then you would have to worry about re-signing him.

I don't even think that gets it done. If Hall is dealt, it would be after 2019 draft and with assumption he signs where he goes. So even Debrusk+Vaakanainen+Frederic+2020 1st still wouldn't get it done.

that.....is insane. If Hall was that 90 point guy year in and year out, that would still be pretty crazy. He isn't that guy. He's been that guy once. He's been a 50 point guy as much as he's been around PPG. He's under a point per game for his career. So, let's just say that in this, his contract year, he has the same value as Mark Stone. He doesn't. Mark Stone is better, and is significantly better, but let's just say for argument that he is. You've got Debrusk, Vaakainanen, and Frederic, AND a first going for him, compared to....drumroll please, a bottom 6, 27 year old nothing, a really good defensive prospect that hadn't touched NHL ice, and a 2nd round pick. Okay, me personally, I'll take Vaak over Brannstrom, that might not be a popular opinion, but I don't think many can debate that those two guys are in the same ballpark when it comes to prospect value. Vaak and a 2nd with who? Nordstrom? You've got a kid that just scored 27 goals in 68 games (pssssst, that was a way higher rate than Taylor Hall scored goals at last year), with a year left on his ELC, an elite prospect, another former first rounder who played in the NHL this year, AND a first round pick? That. is. insanity. good day.

That gets it done, by a lot. Especially given Hall's contract status. They need to move him BEFORE the 2019 draft or at the deadline. After the 2019 draft would be their lowest value (see seguin).

Mark Stone is a great player. But this is just not worthy of a response.

Hall cannot sign an extension before July 1st. July 1st is after the draft. Hall for 1 year is less valuable than Hall for multiple years. If you want Hall on the cheap for 1-year rental, you will make your offers before draft. If you want him to be your franchise player, you make your offer in July.

I just can’t see an argument to be made for hall over stone, unless you’re stuck in last year, and have forgotten all seasons before then

I think he is talking mostly about what both of their ceilings are. I personally believe that Hall has the higher ceiling but I agree with you that he hasnt remotely performed to that level consistently. Also I think that his slight injury prone-ness takes away from some of his value.
