The Islanders already have more D men than spots they will not be taking Zaitsev.

I love how you are just trying to give away Zaitsev unfortunately no one in the league would just take him to help out the leafs

Why the sudden fad of trading Bracco for Miller? This is at least the third construction I've seen recently doing so. Bracco is the ideal promotion from the Marlies next season.

2 horrible ideas. Moving Bracco and Johnsson. Moving kappy and replacing him with Bracco seems like a no brainer. Might be our second best playmaker and has proven chemistry with one of the leagues best 5v5 goal scorers. We need Johnsson much more than kappy.

The more I think about it, and see everyone else's team constructions, the more I'm convinced that moving Nikita Zaitsev is premature until a replacement is in place. On a related note, Las Vegas guys are throwing Nate Holden away for a fifth-round pick. He might be a nice third-pairing pickup.

I haven’t seen much of him but 2m for a lefty who plays the right side is iffy.

Like the Honka and Miller ideas. Don't think the isles take Zaitsev but someone will. Johnsson obviously plays in that spot over Petan if not traded (Mik likely if he's moved for all futures) and Lil probably plays over rosen so dermott can slide back to LD until muzz is gone.

Don't forget that Lou Lamoriello loves Zaitsev.

You're right about Zaitsev. If he were traded, the Leafs would need not one but two RHDs.

Yet most people are wrong in assuming that he's so difficult to trade. Ironically, it's mostly Leafs fans who think that. Several teams might be interested. The return won't be big, but it won't be zero.

And he’s too old, after muzzin I’m not sure I want Martinez either. I do prefer righties on the right in the D zone.

Agree with everything except the Dermott LD belief because he has played RD his whole life.

I have talked to numerous marlies reporters about Bracco and he is not ready for the NHL his all around game is not near nhl
calibre, Kapanen is definitely better than Johnsson and Bracco.

Wrong on both points. He won’t be jumping up on the top line, or to playing any pk.

Just because Johnsson had an unsustainable s% and is LW doesn’t mean he is better than Kapanen

Possible but he's LH and Lil is 100 percent NHL ready. He plays both and Babcock has stated he isn't a fan of offside D, especially offensive ones.

Dermott is a better defensive presence than an offensive presence
