Huberdeau is pretty much untouchable, Hoffman will get moved so Florida can sign both Bobrovsky and Panarin.

not untouchable, there was rumbling that Avs and Panthers were talking Barrie for Huberdeau trade at the TDL. Florida really likes Barrie and Avs Huberdeau. Now with Q as the HC, who knows what they will do with that forward group, they will talk but the price is probably high

No truth to those rumors, Huberdeau isn’t getting trade unless it’s for something huge and an unextended Barrie isn’t anything special.

Thats not what Avs beat writers were hearing from their sources. So there was some smoke to that fire. Sorry but they arent the kind to make up rumours nor do they speculate, once BSN has some serious confirmation on rumours then they bring it up.

Is it unlikely yes...but Florida has been hot for Barrie for a few years now from what they said and they had some dialogue about Huberdeau in the process. Its not a 1 for 1 sort of thing. And Barrie isnt special? Hes one of the top point producing offensive Dmen in the league over the past 5 seasons. He is a special player dont kid yourself

But why do they need another player like yandle? It’s gonna take an overpayment to get huberdeau from them.

Huber has more value than Barrie at the moment, but if Panarin and Bob go to FLA. I could see it happening. Might take a little more.

im not in the Hockey Ops for the Panther so I have no idea why. maybe outside of Ekblad they arent happy with their RHS Dmen in Pysyk Weegar Brown. Apparently according to Avs beat writers they really like Barrie and have been interested in him for a few seasons now

I thought the frame work of a trade would be Barrie Kerfoot for Huberdeau Pysk, somewhere in those parts there could be a deal that could make sense for both sides. Picks and or prospects could be in there too but the main cogs that impact next year NHL roster

I think those 4 players and one pick each might do it.

Maybe but there’s no getting rid of yandle and that contract. And I still don’t see it being equal unless girard coming back as well

Avs shut down any convo with girard in it. If you are saying Barrie and Girard that would never happen

I mean Barrie isn’t that special for a 92 point player who should keep getting better on a great contract.

Barrie is a top 10 producing offensive dmen in the league while being very respectable defensively, 60 point dmen don’t grow on trees either

The teams have reportedly talked, I have no idea why Florida would do it but it’s not pulled out of thin air

Well you got yandle on the defensive side but he produces as well. But 90 point players also don’t grow on trees as well especially on under 6 million a year. Resigning Barrie would cost around 8 million maybe more.

Perhaps he'd like to go to the playoffs.

I don’t think it’s his choice whether the team trades him or not......

You need to read better I said an unextended Barrie isn’t special and won’t get you a top winger on a great contract so you don’t kid yourself. Unless they plan on getting rid of either Yandle, Ekblad, or Matheson there is no “need” for Barrie. They need a top shutdown down defenseman and a goalie.

An unextended barrie is still the same Barrie, you are just trying to make a narrative that doesn’t exist, Karlsson Duchene etc all unextended brought value back. Don’t kid yourself

If you say so buddy. Apparently you and to Avs writers know it all. Panthers are looking to do big things but this isn’t one of them unless they make other moves first. They rather give you Hoffman and a conditional second that turns into a first if he resigns for Barrie. That makes more sense for the Cats.

Be more sensitive, I said they talked at the TDL about the deal and you are throwing a hissy fit. Be keep on doing you

Also Hoffman doesn’t even start the conversation

No hissy fit here just stating actual facts, you don’t trade a top winger under a great contract for one year of a position you currently don’t need. I personally would love to have Barrie but doesn’t make sense with our current roster. Hence why I said other moves would have to happen first. According to the Cats insiders and people inside the organization they have no intentions of trading Huberdeau. We all have to sit back and watch how everything unfolds.

You arent even processing what I said, just repeating your own opinion and saying they are facts. All I said is that the teams talked at the TDL, I also said I dont think that would happen again with Q in place and have no idea why they would have a reason for barrie but apparently Panthers do like him.

I think we are on the same page but you just keep on being passive aggressive about it

Not at all (on the passive aggressive part) and yes we are on the same page in the fact that the Cats do like Barrie, all I’m saying is whatever source is saying Huberdeau was the piece involved is sadly mistaking unless the Avs add because unless they overpay Huberdeau isn’t getting traded but crazier things have happen so we can all just wait and see.

Never assumed it was straight up, what I would speculate as a frame work of trade pieces would be Barrie kerfoot for Huberdeau pysk, surely other assets are in there but when it comes to nhl rosters, you can begin to see how a trade could make sense
