Nashville doesn't need another RHD and they are trying to open up more cap space not take on a cap dump like Okposo

His agent and Botterill denied it, there seems to be interest from the Swedish teams, but Larsson wants to stay in the NHL.

I'm from Europe, always liked Leafs due to my Dad being a fan of them, but I decided to become a Sabres fan (dont know how it happened) and about a year ago found out about the rivalrytears of joy

I like this post as a Sabres' fan. Nashville gives Buffalo 2 centers and a previous Norris winner.
Nashville may make this trade as it cuts their cap by almost $8,000,000.
Okposo actually has a year less term than Turris so this may also appeal to Nashville.
Shattenkirk replaces Ristolainen by moving out players that do not fit into the Sabres future.
NYR makes this trade because it reduces their cap next year and they move out a player that does not fit into their future either.

Ristolainen and Subban are RHD defensemen.

Subban would get traded to open up cap and make room for Fabbro on the 2nd pairing. Ristolainen defeats the latter.

Turris has been better over the past 3 seasons then Okposo. Turris had better point per game production than Okposo last season as well. Not sure why Nashville would make a seemingly lateral trade at best in swapping Turris for Okposo especially once you consider centers are typically more sought after than wingers.

Subban is better than Ristolainen defensively. I typically try to avoid +/- but when you are a career -143, it is pretty indicative that you are subpar defensively. Offensively Subban has the higher ceiling as well.

Trading out Turris + Bonino guts Nashville's center depth (even if they picked up Duchene). That would put Sissons as 3C. Maybe he can do it maybe not.

This trade would only be helpful to nashville if they had Panarin and Duchene lined up to sign there. Otherwise it doesn't really fit their needs. Even then Okposo doesn't fit any need for Nashville as we've got plenty of bottom 6 wingers (he likely doesn't displace any of the other top 6 currently in Nashville) and trading Turris for Okposo is lateral at best but i have more faith in turris returning to 50 points range then i do Okposo.

Sabres take 20 million a year in salary in this trade vs 11.5 going back

Not a fan of either of these trades

Shattenkirk is the exact opposite of what we need on defense to try & allow less goals
And with Dahlin, and PK Subban if your Nashville trade happens... how much PP time would he even get?
I want nothing to do with him

As far as the Nashville trade goes...
all kinds of yuck here
1) nice try, but i just can’t see them taking Okposo
2) i know Turris looks good in this tourney, but it’s too small a sample size to overlook how mediocre he’s looked the past couple years
Can’t risk acquiring that sh!tty contract
3) PK is great... but he’d be a horrible fit for us
We are still at least a few years from realistically competing for the Cup, so we’d just be wasting the few really good years he’s got left on this HUGE contract

We should be looking at younger players
There’s no quick fix here
Gotta keep building the right way with good, YOUNG talent
