Is this enough for Quintin Hughes

Created by: FireShero
Team: 2019-20 New Jersey Devils
Initial Creation Date: May 24, 2019
Published: May 24, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
VAN get another young LHD-man, a Swedish winger with potential, a top 3 RHD-man and an early 2nd round pick.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't believe Hischier/ Jack Hughes are available. Everything else would be on the table.

My guess is that Q Hughes is not available for a price that anyone is willing to pay. Everyone has a price, no doubt, but I would think you would not like that price.

In terms of value I think this is pretty fair, I still think Vancouver would say no though, I just can’t see them trading him period

Is it enough? Yes. Is it a massive overpayment? Also yes. Giving up the 2 most promising prospects currently in the system, the current #1 defenseman, and a 2nd round pick, while also taking back Spooner... I would be disgusted if Shero did this

Yeah, seems unlikely; especially if the Devils draft Jack, then Van would have all the leverage.

Either of you guys think Hall for Hughes straight up would work? Everyday Hall doesn't sign a contract extension with the Devils I feel the Devils would be more willing to part with him

But think of the merch!

On a more serious note yes it would be an overpay but it would hopefully mean that both Hughes would stick around for their careers and the Devils would have Jack/Quintin/ Hischier/ Severson (maybe Hall) as a young foundation for their team.

It depends on if there’s a guaranteed extension. If there isn’t than no, if there is than you could probably add a 1st from Vancouver, I think people have forgotten how special of a player Hall is

Yeah only played a third of the season; still was 5th on the Devils for points.

Both teams can say “we want both Hughes brothers together.” It’s an overpayment, but not enough of an overpaymentZ... if that makes sense.

Not a chance. One year of Hall, he's not re-signing in Van, for Q Hughes??

The thought would be the Devils allowing Hall to talk with VAN before trade to work out a deal. Hall for Hughes+
I could see him signing in Vancouver:

Hall- Horvat- Leivo/Eriksson
Pearson- Pettersson - Boeser

I think anywhere outside OTT is a possibility really.

I don’t like this deal from a Devils fan perspective but from a Nucks fan instead of Spooner maybe Loui Eriksson to make it closer

Hall can't sign until July 1st. So everyday after that could be a discussion. Until then I'll assume he's staying

Jesus christ. Shero would be fired on the spot if he completed this trade. This is HORRIBLE from the Devils and an absolute robbery for Vancouver.

Devils draft Jack, VAN has Quintin, VAN doesn't want to trade Quintin, VAN knows the Devils want Quintin badly, the Devils would have to overpay to get Quintin. I can live without Boqvist, Vatanen, and the 2nd; Smith would be tough to trade but if it meant Jack and Quintin would play the rest of their careers in NJ together I could deal with it.
