Need 23 players

You only have 18 and already under the cap, not realistic at all

You need 20. You can't have more than 23.

Trading 7 out of 21 skaters on the roster is what hopeless teams do, not playoff teams. What this post shows is that Las Vegas fans should give up on the idea of seeing Erik Karlsson in a Golden Knights uniform.

Opening night rules requires for a team to have a 23 man roster. Then they can send players down/waive them etc.

Sorry to shoot the two of you down but the opening roster can be 20-23 players. Just don’t like misinformation getting spread around.

Some teams do start out with less than 23. But yes this agm is not going to work... even if it could as @OldNYIfan already pointed out, playoff team don’t yard sale half their team.

My only point against you is that there is no rule stating 23. It is very likely that Toronto and Vegas starts the season with a 22 man roster.

You are wrong my friend, every team runs with a 23 man roster and one or two games they might run with 22 while tweeking their roster. No team runs with less, unless you would like to research and give us an example that doesn't exist. While it may be legal to run with 20 it's never happened.

Wow, quite rude... but I don’t have to research. Ottawa’s opening roster had 22 players just last year. I remember Pittsburgh running for the majority of a season with 22.

The idea is to save cap space and pull players up and down. Much like Toronto did with Moore. This would be a bit more difficult for Vegas with their ahl team being in Chicago.

Edit*

For good measure I checked opening night rosters from last season Arizona, Carolina, Chicago, Colorado, Detroit, Los Angeles, Nashville, Ottawa and Vegas all started with a 22 man roster.

Well done. Facts are always good things to introduce into an argument/discussion.

On a side note: I wish there was some way to write to distinguish "ooooo" (rhymes with "you") and "oooh" (rhymes with, well, O).

This arose because I was originally going to respond to your reply to ChipsnBeer with "Ooooo, bet that hurt [Chips]", but thought that was snotty.
