Where in that tweet does it say Toronto turned it down?

He said the leafs ask was probably Benning, and the trade didn’t go down. That tells me the Oilers rejected it.

That's certainly not how I read it, but I could see how it could be read either. I had always heard it referenced in the point of view of the Leafs rejecting Benning.
