Tampa with Karlsson Realistic Path

Notes

1. This is taking the assumption that Johnson or Palat will be picked by Seattle in the future expansion draft. If not moved beforehand. This is definitely risky for the future, but keeps 3 core defenseman and a decent forward group. I think it's worth the risk.

2. All salary projections are from Evolving Wild. Not from me.

3. I took everone's comments on past drafts into consideration. Thank you!

4. This is the most realistic I could make this. It's tight for sure. If Karlsson does sign with the Bolts, something similar to this seems likely.

True. Raddysh is supposed to be listed in that trade. My bad on that.

Instead of Johnson or Palat being taken in the expansion draft, I think It'll more likely be Johnson or McDonagh that'll get picked. Still think the hometown boy (Johnson) is the frontrunner though

Agree that Johnson is most likely. Interesting thought on McDonagh. I could possibly see that, though Johnson just seems so like the pick. I am a bit concerned about Palat moving forward. I hope it's just been the injuries and he'll heal, but his game is not where it was when he first entered the league, and I'm wondering how much of that was playing with Kucherov initially.

Fair point. I think Stevie was a good GM, but not necessarily in the top-tier of them for sure.

What is sure is that Tampa won't sign Point for 4 years, as that would walk him straight to UFA. 3/5/6/8 years are the options

I keep thinking he's younger than he is. I'd say 3 years as a bridge like Kucherov did for Point.

Coming from the guy that wants to trade everyone on the roster to Anaheim. What did your parents do to you when you were a child?

OK Forest let me walk you through the big boy section.. Tampas key is 2020 .. when FOUR RFAs who are critical to Tampa success in 2025 .. Vaz Cirelli Serg and Joseph .. Cernek also due then .. the middle five are IRRELEVANT to Tampa future.. so get 5 2nd rounders for them NOW .. bring up 6 Syracuse prospects or UFAs or trade deadline moves for 2019 playoffs .. THAT how to manage things instead of signing Karlsson ..what a desperate loser move that would be .
