Chicago won't give up Mitchell and a 2nd for Terry. Mitchell is a very solid prospect, not nearly talked about as much as he should be.

1st...100% agreed. What makes it interesting is if they draft Bowen. Would Mitchell think twice?

Byram shouldn't affect Mitchell - Mitchell's issue is Seabrook/Murphy. If Boq and Jokiharju are the future 2D/4D, what do we do with Seabs and/or Murph?

Keep murph as your defensively reliable 3RD in the future

I think he'll be a bigger name in the NCAA next year. Denver made it to the semis this year and have a great team returning. Should be a Hobey Baker candidate next year.

The right side of the prospect pool is significantly deeper than the left. Mitchell, Jokiharju,Boqvist. If you need to trade Murphy to accommodate, that's easily done. We're assuming all of these guys hit. And that's just not going to happen. The best thing the Hawks could do would be to not fall in love with their own guys. The Hawks have been pretty good about that in years past. When was the last time a prospect went on to have success elsewhere? Clendening, Morin,Pirri, Paliotta

Danault, Teuvo, Raanta.

I think this is a little different tho considering Joki kinda already proved he can play. Boqvist is an 8th overall and Mitchell, a 2nd rounder, who has been great in the NCAA. Later round prospects are a different story. You should expect the guys from round 1 and 2 to be on your roster at some point. It’s not far fetched to say that all three of these guys will hit. And they don’t all need to be top pair, just as long as they make the team.

Raanta was older and it was Darling or him. Teuvo was a cap casualty because of Bickell. I was never a fan of the Danault deal. That stings.

I think people get enamored with 2 things from Mitchell. His production in Denver and that he was a 2nd round pick. It shouldn't matter what round a guy was taken in. But Mitchell was a few picks from being a 3rd rounder. Are we still enamored if he went in the 3rd? College hockey is such a crapshoot. Look at Sikura, Motte, Hayden. They were all ppg players in the NCAA their final year. The talent pool is so diluted numbers don't really mean as much.

Then you look at his numbers from the WJC and you see he was tied for most points for Canada's defense. It's a tough call. But with the similar ages of the 2 players, I'd take Sergachev. He's bigger and plays on the left side. And also has proven himself at the top level. Something we don't know about Mitchell until he does it.
