Description
I think this is a pretty reasonable way to go. I could also see the hawks taking on Callahan's bad contract for a pick. I think Wennberg is a good buy low option. He didn't exactly get a good role on CBJ, especially with their heavier style of play.

How do those moves get them from missing the playoffs to All In territory? All In would be signing one of Skinner/Panarin/Duchene on top of signing Dzingel and also signing or trading for a solid backup. Plus maybe acquiring an Eakin/Haula/Brown depth at the deadline or something

Those three forwards make the team much deeper up front, which is something they severely lacked.

I'm expecting Byram to make an immediate impact on the team, with the option to bring Boqvist in as well.

Dzingle alone would put Chicago as a threat again as a flames fan I was shocked how bad the hawks were this season and thankful as well lol. But yes they did lack in depth in almost all categories so I think this would be the right moves for them too be back as a playoff team again

Overpaying the hell out of Dzingle. He had a good year. But history isn't on his side for keeping those numbers up. On top of that, Byram isn't going to be able to step right in right away.

The Hawks were bad on defense. They had the 6th ranked offense. Dzingle doesn't really help where they struggled.

If we really want to go all in now wed need to move one of the d prospects+ for an established top 4 dman in his prime

You can call Anaheim and ask about Lindholm, but 3rd overall is a nonstarter, and would you trade Boqvist straight up for Lindholm?

Probably would not make that trade but there are plenty of other guys besides lindholm hawks could pursue.

Off about a $1M and a year on Zingers...$4.5m x 5 years is more doable. He was nonexistent in the playoffs which is going to hurt him despite having one breakout season. Plus I hope he gives a small hometown discount.

Also forgot Kubalik so no sense in Fast at this point with a bunch of middle and bottom guys like Caggs, Kubalik, Entwistle, Kampf, Perlini, Sikura...we have enough of those types; Kahun is middle for sure, he's not a 4th liner, the guy is solid on the 3rd line. Kubalik might be a 4th line guy. Caggs is really a 4th liner. Saad may find himself out at the trade deadline depending on how Perlini, Kahun, Kubalik, and Caggs play.

Going all in is getting a #1LW we definitely need...that is the biggest hole up front. Anyone who thinks Caggs is the answer, is wrong...the guy would not be on the top line of teams like Boston, St. Louis, Sharks, Carolina, etc.

He shouldn't be on the top line in Chicago. He's a good bottom 6 player...and a helluva steal when you consider how the Hawks acquired him.

Agree, Caggs is not the answer so we really need a solid #1LW. Given the Florida connect with Tallon, Coach Q and Kitchens, and assuming Florida grabs Panarin, Hawks should make a run at Hoffman for the job.
