Kadri, and Brown have to be traded for Dmen and Zaitsev has to be traded to provide cap room. Bridge deals for Marner, Kapanen and Johnsson, so that they do not all have to be resigned at same time.

So let me get this straight... leafs need RHD so the first thing they do is trade their only nhl RHD... who was solid last season....

The reason you have to trade Zaitsev in this scenario is that you took back the much-inferior Kris Russell. Take him and Kadri out of the first deal, trade Kadri somewhere for a Laughton equivalent and more, and you have a much better team -- which can probably fit under an $83M cap, not the $84M cap you have so generously given yourself.

Edmonton trade is bad and if they are bridging marner it would be for around 7. 9.5 is what he should be making ove a 7 or 8 year deal

That Edmonton deal is one of the worst I've seen. Russell/Benning are a net negative value wise. And you saved 700k total with WAY worse players.

No he wasn’t and no I wasn’t. I would go over why but I feel it would be a waste of my time.
