No point in buying out Eriksson in terms of the cap hit. Only advantage is clearing a roster spot.
You're not offering enough for Boeser, Nyquist, Edler, or Dzingel. Probably too much for Karlsson.
Giving up too much to get a 6th from NYI. Spooner doesn't have much value but if he can't make the roster you can waive him or bury him.

All the prices paid are for particular reasons. Dzingle isn't making more than 4.25 at best. Nyquist produces as much as a 4.5 player, Boeser has some injury issues and seems to be inconsistent, Edler is getting older, but he had a good contract year and you don't just look at one year or else you get burned. Spooner is more of a cap dump because he would be buried in the minors like in Edmonton.

The difference is that Benning is good at drafting players and absolute garbage at signings. At the time he was thinking that with Loui with the Twins; he would rake in 45-50 points/ season with them on a line and then Loui carrying the PP. he was wrong and everyone knew that. Beagle is a good Pk player, takes crucial draws in the defensive zone and adds a load of speed... would I pay 3? no but the value isn't too far off, id prob pay around 2-2.25 for 2 years of him. Also just because you're a UFA doesn't mean you're entitled to getting overpaid, even though teams will (i.e Eriksson w/ Vancouver).

JVR is also a lot better than Dzingel.
