I'd do this in a heartbeat.

Based off what? Lindgren's through the roof value and Rielly's undeniable bench sitting ability?

The Montreal fans who overvalue Lehkonen are so over the top its insane. HE'S LITERALLY ON THE 4TH LINE. Yeah he is a good depth player but is just that. DEPTH!

What is Matheson? Top 4 dman. Reimer, 1B starter but better as backup probably.

What are Habs needs?

LHD dman
Backup goalie

Florida would decline this trade so fast it would make your head spin. Not the other way around.

nope. rielly doesnt have much value, but lindgren does. it was on 31 thoughts a few months back. lehkonen despite playing up and down the line up, had 30 points, and will only get bettter. and take a look at riemers bad contract and numbers

How much value does the unproven and historically bad numbers in the AHL, have? a 5th rounder? Maybe?

Lehkonen isn't a bad player but what value do you think he has? A 1st rounder? A top prospect? You're sitting in the clouds if you think so.

Reimer is an NHL'er at least Not a great player but at 3.4m for 2 years, we're not talking about breaking the bank either. He's capable of being a better backcup than any player MTL has or will realistically get in free agency. He isn't the ideal backup, but considering the trade only works if he is included, he is absolutely worth taking on.

nope. flordia wanted him this past season, but habs werent willing to move him. he's a young goalie who can grow to be a potential 1B goalie. plus he's signed for another 2 years at reasonable term. nope, lehkonen wont get you a 1st rd pick, but the habs would rather trade armia, then lehkonen. he scored 18 in his rookie year, and can score 20 goals, as a 3rd line winger and solid defensive game. hes more valuable to mtl then he is in a trade. rimeir is done. hes not an nhl caliber goalie. even the boughner lost confidence in him last year. not worth it at all

And this is why I understand why everyone hates MTL fans..

I guess you forgot about the young top 4 dman coming ALONG with Reimer?

Lindgren is 25 years old. You say potential like he's 21.... his max potential is...wait for it.....a 1B goalie! Something Reimer is NOW. Lindgren has been declining every year in the AHL. MB reportedly doesn't have enough confidence to have him as Price's backup next year so they are going to go and get another backup like Niemi or Montoya. etc. Soon Lindgren will be a UFA............ stop exaggerating his value. your are just speculating his value. The stats don't back it up.

The question is not whether Habs would rather trade Armia or lehkonen. I would rather tarde Armia too but that is not the AGm above. Lehkonen is a solid depth player only. He will never be a 1st line winger. He will never be a 2nd line winger. The vision and finish just isn't there. He gets all his goals because he works hard. Which is fine but its better suited for 3rd and 4th line duties. Lehkonen for Matheson is a no brainer. Not even any way you can justify it. Adding Reimer with lindgren and Reilly adds virtually nothing to this deal other than gives the Habs a backup calibre goalie. Cap space isn't a problem so they basically got Matheson for Lehkonen.

Fair enough. Its not a bad trade for the Habs, you just put more value in things that I don't.
