so the capitals top defensive pairing would get us a 4th and 5th round pick plus a prospect? woof...... you think we could get a 2nd rounder for ovechkin? maybe a 3rd for backstrom?

Probably sold Orlov short but that's probably all Niskanen is worth at this point.

no I bet you could easily get players and picks for him.....easily get a 2nd or 3rd maybe both for him

Niskanen is worth way more than a 5th rounder. You're looking too much into the analytics of his play. Someone will give up a 2nd or 3rd, but I have a feeling he will be part of a larger deal and not just a pick for him.

Niskanen is extremely bad now, there are almost no redeeming qualities to his game. He was exposed all season and got absolutely torched in POs.

I don’t see Arizona taking Nisk, maybe a team with no analytics department such as Anaheim, I could also see Washington getting more than a 5th for Nisk.

guys can have down years....im not sold on the fact hes "extremely bad now". hes still a guy that can play 5v5 4v5 and 5v4 at an elite level. he can responsibly log 25 minutes a game....theres a lot of value in that

He can’t do anything at an elite level. Orlov may have had a down year but Niskanen was downright awful and his skating went to utter garbage.

I mean they just won the cup I don't imagine he spent the summer training ha right>? this summer hes probably working out and training more which will help address those issues you stated

Orlov did not have a down year, he carried Niskanen all season and still managed to look good and pass the analytics test

Niskanen never was and never will be elite sorry buddy
