Leafs aren't doing that deal, if they don't feel they can 8*$11M they will just take the four 1st round picks

The idea of getting rid of Marleau’s contract is enticing, but not if it is going to devalue Marner.

Why is Sobotka going to the KHL?

IF they like Risto (who knows?)
Then maybe they actually consider something like this
The Leafs are pretty desperate for RH defenseman

I think they’d explore moving Nylander for that guy they need though
To move Marner, they’d have to be out of other options

Wat if no offersheets come and they are in same situation as Nylander except don’t have the cap space to sign him

Honestly i like that Toronto trade. It would just depend on Marleau wanting to goto Buffalo and waive his NMC.

Marleau's contract is only a real problem if you're signing Marner. If they trade him like it says here (which they will not) getting rid of Marleau has a lot less value. That trade is terrible for Toronto. Dahlin for Marner is the starting point.

your getting a solid 3rd liner in wilson thats cheap\
2 prospects that are likley to make the nhl in the next year or 2
A defensemen who is the position you derspiratly need
a 7th overall pick and a future 2nd round pick

      for marner and cap relief...

Any trade from buffalo for marner involves reinhart or mittelstadt and #7 overall.

      And that's being conservative

There is no rumor he is going back. He played more minutes than he thought he would, and has one more year at over 3 mil, which he wont get in the KHL.

Sabres fans just want him to leave. He isn't going anywhere.
