My god. The Devils wouldn't even trade Vatanen for Ristolainen straight up. This is HORRIBLE for New Jersey. Ristolainen is one of the most overrated players in the NHL. He is a solid #3 defenseman. That is all.

Risto is solid. Possibly subtract a pick because of Ristos plus/minus but he is an offensive threat

As a Sabres fan I'd say this trade was fair maybe more than fair but personally I don't think I'd do the deal just because if anything the Sabres need to get bigger and we have kinda sucked at drafting anything except no-brainer first round picks.
