While Doughty is definitely a great player, having 4 players making up 1/2 of your cap is just not sustainable.

Folks complain about the Leafs highly paid players never getting the first round. IMO the Kings has got declining players making 11, 10, 6.25m 5.8 and 5.8m. Just don't think Doughty is gonna be of good value in the future. The Leaf would be 100 times better off spending 11m on a UFA(s) and trading some of those players for assets then trading all those players for an 11m Doughty.
