I'd rather have Heed in the lineup rather than Polak. He's already been in SJ once and it did not work out. Also Gambrell as a 2nd line winger?

you probably get Labanc for 3.5 million if you sign him for a 2 yr bridge deal

Nyquist was a pure rental. Also, a 3 rounder becomes a 2nd if he re-signs

I hear you with heed, he is a functional 3rd pair d man; but I'm not a big fan of his lack of physicality or ability to clear the front of the net. That is what I was going for with my poor attempt in Polak. As far as Gambrell on the second line, give the guy a shot, I think he can put up Labanc type numbers if given the shot. If not move Kane back up to the second line and drop Gambrell down to the 3 C.

I could see Labanc getting 3.5 mil, I just wanted to give him enough to not underpay him. I did not remember the details of the Nyquist deal as far as resigning him goes, thanks for pointing that out; with that said I have no problem with giving up a second for a top 6 guy with speed and the ability to carry the puck into the offensive zone. His ability and willingness to hold onto the puck is the best on the team IMO; and given another year I think his play would only get better with the boys.

True, but I don't think he wants to stay here, probably goes back to the east coast
