I was re-reading the Reserve List FAQ, and, under the section "How is age defined for drafted players?", age 19 is defined as "The player reaches the age 19 no later than December 31 on the year of the entry draft." However, under section 8.10 of the CBA, age 19 is defined as "a Player reaching his nineteenth birthday by no later than September 15 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft." (emphasis mine)

Also, a grammar note: for age 20, "reached" is written instead of "reaches" for every other line in that section. I don't particularly care which verb tense is the preferred one 'round these parts, but I think consistent verb tense looks better.

This may not be a "cap error," per se, but I'm curious as to why Simon Després' buyout isn't listed as counting against Anaheim's salary cap. As far as I know, it was a regular buyout and not a compliance one, so it should count against the salary cap.

I guess this would count as a cap error. When I retain 1 million on Mark Stone perhaps, when the trade goes through, the total turns to $1 not $1,000,000 and it’s screwing me up cuz I use this as base for trades and all and I’m a mill richer and I forget I have that. Thanks

I have a hunch that the bug is because you have entered commas in your number (1,000,000) instead of (1000000).
It will be fixed, but until it is fixed that should solve the problem.

Ohhh thank you I always use commas.

When creating a custom team in armchair gm, the drag and drop to 'delete signed player' only works once (it wont let me delete more than 1 player from the team)

We will look into it. Does it let you delete another signed player if you refresh the page?

In GM team editing screen (long term outlook tab) the totals aren't lining up under the correct years. They're all shifted by one year. I'm on an Android tablet using Chrome if that helps.

Just thought I would make a note of the fact that, for the Sharks, Noah Gregor is listed as playing in the minors, when he's actually playing in major-juniors this year.

Hi!

Not exactly a cap error, but I think CapFriendly doesn't correctly count player right expiration ("Must sign by" in the reserve list page) for NHL RFAs, who are playing in the KHL currently. For these cases CapFriendly has "INDEFINITE", which totally doesn't sound correct to me, as there were examples of right expiration for players of this category: Evgeni Dadonov's rights belonged to Hurricanes (after his ELC ended) until those expired while he was playing in the KHL and he was able to sign with Panthers in 2017 without them trading for his rights. Same situation was with Viktor Tikhonov's rights, which belonged to Coyotes, but he was able to sign with Blackhawks in 2015.

If I understand correctly, "INDEFINITE" right expiry is the case only for unsigned draft picks (e.g. in cases when no ELC was signed at all), who are playing in the KHL (and NLA, since they also didn't have a transfer agreement with the NHL last time I checked) and not for RFAs, who are playing there after the end of ELC contract, as for them it is the same thing as usual - they become UFAs in the NHL if they are 27 by the 1st of July.

Thanks RUSProspecs,

This has now been updated to show the 27 year old date expiry's on the reserve list.

Good day everyone,

On David Pastrnak's contract page, the cap hit and AAV is listed at $6,666,666/year which works out to be 6 x $6,666,666 x 6 years = $39,999,996

Is the correct cap hit and AAV $6,666,666.66/year x 6 years = $40,000,000?

I run a keeper league and we have a transaction that is down to $0.50/year so this actually makes a difference.

Thank you

Cap hits are rounded, we do not track to pennies

his contract is 40M over 6 years

Thank you Banks.

I know it is common sense, but I have a GM in our league saying the .66 is not supposed to be there and just needed something from Capfriendly to close the case.

Much appreciated.

It doesn't appear to show the correct buyout cap hit a team has for a player who was previously traded for with retention.

Example MTL trades for Lucic with 50% retained by Oilers and then buys out his contract afterwards. The buyout should be percentage based on the retention.

On players pages that have not been drafted yet it says they are inactive, not sure if this is an error?
Jack Hughes page says inactive, just like retired players.

Our status indicator means at the NHL contract level, as prospects they are inactive at the NHL level

Clarification on Fucale?

Site lists him as an RFA, but to my knowledge Montreal let him walk as a UFA and he signed a 1 year deal with Vegas, so he should become a UFA this year.

Status reverts back to RFA even if the player wasn't qualified, if they have not met 7 years of accrued seasons or 27 years of age

Yes there are a few duplicates due to a technical issue, hopefully to be fixed in the future

when you are in a mock draft, nothing happens when you press tools, calculators, teams players, archive, or the notification bell
