Honestly, I don't even see the point of this deal. For Calgary it is generally useless, to us, too not exactly the parts that I would like to get if we trade Risto.

What? This would be great for us. Risto and Brodie is a wash imo. But then we get a 1st and Kylington for Nylander. Sign me up

Brodie is the only piece i like coming back to slot in at 2RD. other than that, as I said, im not interested in any of the other pieces. Kylington is a good piece but thats Buffalos last need

I would prefer to get help in the top 6 for Risto, we do not have a second link of a good level. I didn't say that the value is bad or anything like that, on the contrary, it's just not the parts that I would like to get for Risto. Kylington is quite good, but we have Pilut, Samuelsson and Bryson on LHD as prospects, Nylander can be a bright player, but in principle I am not against his trade, Jankowski for us not doing anything, we have more interesting and versatile Rodrigues, I'm not as high on Jankowski.

I appreciate every ones comments.
Let me point out that Jankowski (14 goals 32 pts)is greatly under rated. His 1.9pt/60 min would have ranked 5th among the Sabres last year behind, Eichel, Skinner, Reinhart and Pominville. While the Flames definitely scored more than Buffalo, 1/6 of his 12:42 min/gm ice time was spent killing penalties. With Monahan, Lindholm and Backlund as centers, I would not expect him to have any high scoring wingers. His line mates were primarily Bennett (27 pts) 31.51% Neal (19 pts) 34.63% Szarnik (18 pts) 25.68%, next highest was Lindholm with 10.50% (mostly on the PK). He was by far the best player 5-5 Calgary had when he was on the ice. Give him Sheary (14/34) and Rodrigues (9/29) I wonder how many pts and goals he wold have.
Then there are 2 picks, a first this year and a third next.
IMO Betterall would salivate at the thought of 3 first round picks this year.
But you may all be correct, I just wanted to get feed back and I appreciate your candid comments.

I see your point, I copied this trade from a Flames post and was looking for comments.

This does hurt our RHD but Brodie is the piece that makes this trade great for Buffalo.

Yup Brodie would be great return and from what I have seen from other ACGM, many would say Buffalo would have to add.

If i see another good player leave for 2 mediocre at best players (Brodies not that bad but 1 year left and at 29 y/o its almost the same effect) picks and a prospect im gunna puke.

I watched the Bruins dismantle the Blues tonight with my son. I will back off and agree with every one who does not like the trade, because he agrees with you and he knows more about hockey than any one I know. So I am wrong this is a bad trade for Buffalo, all of you are correct.
