Lou comes calling for his boy

Description
Brown to Edmonton seems like the obvious thing that's going to happen. I have no idea what Holland is gunna do in EDM but this still makes sense.

Lou signed Nikita and I think it would be nice to see him go to a place that hates the Leafs, so the fan base will be behind him 100%

Honestly...just sick of Kadri not being able to grow up, not a fan.

Holl is never going to play as long as the D stays healthy so we send him home.

Vegas is in cap hell somehow and can't afford Clarkson on LTIR...but the Leafs can. The Leafs may/might give up a prospect like Timashov,Engvall, or Marchment. Vegas have a mid first round pick so maybe the Leafs can swindle the pick and grab Kaliyev if he falls, maybe Susuki. Most people have Kaliyev later on in their drafts even though hes a top 5 N/A Skater.

From what reports suggest.. Leafs would not have to pay to get rid of Zaitsev. 5 teams are already interested in him and want to downplay his value as much as possible. I told ya guys.. teams would want him.

We will see what happens. It would be nice to see him get fair market value to shut the trolls up.

I agree and have heard the same. Do you think if I take Johnsson out of the dead it would still be a fair one? to the teams that are interested of course

Definitely Johnsson out. Zaitsev can fetch a 3rd/4th tbh. There is value for him. Teams like him!

I haven’t read much speculation on why Zaitsev asked for a trade but how he is treated by fans seems like a legit reason. I used to follow his Instagram and he had comments turned off. Probably a good idea for any player not named Matthews. Kadri gets chirped regularly by fans on his social media but he can handle it. I can only imagine the comments Zaitsev receives going about his day around the city.

I dont want to speculate much because its definitely a horrible situation and.. man.. poor guy. He was being treated like piece of crap for the last 2yrs. I dont blame him for wanting out. But if I had to say what was the case it was likely something direct with fans. Something really bad happened imo that made him decide that he wants 100% out. And likely this caused his game to be not as good as it was, he is really nice guy, humble and nice human being, Zaitsev needs a change and he needs it now.

Ranger fan, so I'm fairly unbiased. Zaitsev is a bit overpaid, but it not like he has negative value. You just need a team with a little wiggle room in their cap and you can get a mid round pick.

I just read an interview he did in Russia. He was pretty much saying that defensive-minded defenseman receive zero praise in Toronto. Im paraphrasing here but he said it’s all about flashy goals and celebrations. Also referring to Muzzin being heavily praised when he first arrived for his hitting and his first goal then the fans turned on him too. He also called Don Cherry a clown. ?

He’s not entirely wrong about the volatile environment in Toronto. Nylander was a demigod until the contract holdout then his lacklustre season just added fuel to the fire. Marner is facing the same situation. People are calling him greedy and saying he’s not worth x amount of dollars, when a few months prior he was the biggest all star snub in the history of the game.
