NO, @Bcarlo25 isn't an idiot according to Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic the Coyotes would want a prime asset if they were to trade for Marleau's bad contract (ie. Johnsoon or Kapanen) and Ottawa is looking for 1-2 year cap dumps not a 5 year cap dump who can't be a veteran leader yet since he's only played 3 years in the NHL

Premium assets can be picks. Ottawa needs Dmen, as they currently only have 2 signed for next year.

Isn't Sandin signed for next year?? He's a defenseman. Chabot, Sandin, Brannstrom. That's a nice start.

Lots wrong with this post IMO. Does Marleau waive for Phoenix? Even if he did, think the Leaf have to add more. Unless Ottawa likes Zaitsev as a player...his $$$ and term, the worse reason for trading for an unwanted player is hitting the cap floor. 100 better ways to hit the cap floor.
