Lets' say Dvorak and Kapanen is an even trade, the Leafs are ridding themselves of Marleau for free. Think the Leafs have to add. Hardly Robidas Island. Both are medically unfit...which was the purpose of their trades.

My guess would be Galchenyuk with the cap hits equaled out or Toronto adding with no retention.

Hossa for 1 mil to not influence the cap is too good for Arz.

The actual cap hit is not relevant for Arizona, they have an internal cash cap hit , I know Hossa is insured but not the whole contract so if Arizona has to pony up a mill to keep Hossa they'd be inclined to use that Mill to pay a player that actually plays and let the MLSE wallet pay both tabs, IMO Marleau to yotes for Hossa is a swap I can see happening as hockey is a business first for every Owner paying the bills

Chayka would block Dubas number if this was the offer on the table. And switching Dvo for Galchenyuk like someone else said above is even more laughable.

fair enough, my reason for adding the 3rd was dvorak missed a good chunk of the season and I feel like that would lower trade value CD's value, also considering his term on his deal & cap hit with the amount of point production he has made not cracking 40 pts nor hitting 20 goals so far (to be fair arizona has been garbage) he seems expendable.

@palhal I appreciate your feedback as always

You're right about Dvorak and his production or lack of. Coyotes did take that chance by overpaying him and giving him big term, hoping he becomes a long term bargain. They did same thing with Chychrum upping him big despite his middling production which could be attributed to injuries. In hindsight wish the Leaf have overpaid Marner last summer at 7.25 X 8.

it reminds me of what the leafs did with kadri, when the team thrived kadri scored goals he was in their top 6 when he scored 30 goals, obviously there is an age+experience difference apples and oranges. however CD needs to show that he is worth it or he'll be traded its a young man's game, And he has to contribute. If the yotes thrive CD should, they should have made the playoffs but they got more injuries than a new york mall on black friday.

Why does Marleau waive his NMC? To go to ARZ?

You actually think that EVER happens?

Nice analogy to black Friday. Just a note on Kadri when he scored 30 goals per season in those two years. He had 13 goals on the PP, not as centre but as the LW replacing Hyman on the PP. Played with Matthews and Nylander on that PP line. One reason I'm not fan numbering players 1C 2C 3C etc for positions because each team plays their line differently. In Kadri two 30 goals seasons, he had 27 goal Marleau (both years) as his LW. Does that sound 3C? Bozak had JVR as his LW. Hyman, Matthews, Nylander was a line. Gee, I have problem knowing who was the top offensive line in those two seasons, when even strength is considered.
