Why would winnipeg do that?. They would trade 2 elite players for 1 year of Hall??

Winnipeg says no. No need to move Laine, and for Trouba I think we'd want back something younger and a bit cheaper long term.

These sign and trades rarely happen. You tell your own player "You aren't wanted". Try to make a contract extension with that one team. And if you can't make an agreement you are welcome back with your current team. Besides the trade is poor value for the Jets.

Brutal for the Jets even if Hall and Vatanen signed extensions with Winnipeg.

Make the pick exchanges conditional on resigning.

If Hall doesn't sign extension, WPG has choice to swap next two 1st rounders.

The 2nd/3rd that NJD sends to WPG are on the condition that RFAs are signed (would have to be 2020 picks)
