Leafs might do that trade. Might as well keep Uncle Leo, you got cap space. Is it just me, but is that a lot to give up for a one year rental of Hall?

I'd imagine they would try to extend him, they have the cap room+they have some tradeable assets so cap hell would be unlikely. Worst case they are going for a big cup run and they crash and burn. . . That has never happened to my Franchise that I cheer for before. . .

As a Leaf fan, I haven't experienced than many Cup runs since 1967, but lots of "playoff runs" the crashed and burned Confused You correctly pointed out the danger of paying big price pre season for a year rental Hall, then only to miss playoffs. As nice as the Isles season went last year, they are still iffy to make the playoffs 2020. Just so many teams are going to be so close in the standings.

Oh I was just refering to the lightning, I took a week off work to watch the cup final where they crushed my hopes and dreams however it was a close series. Then they lost to the pens in the conference finals and lost to the Caps in the conference finals. . . Again.

Anyway yeah betting on yourself with the hall trade with no extension could back fire considering he just had a major injury and this islanders season was an outlier.

Yep, I know you were talking about your Lightning and their Cup runs....As a Leaf fan, I'm content with a playoff run. Conference Finals? What's that?
