Jets get a free draft pick for a player that wasn’t going to stay. Flyers don’t give up a lot for a player that according to Friedman, Lebrun and John Shannon, has not committed to signing with Philly yet. Fair for both sides

Looks like a free pick for the Jets. Better than nothing!

Sympathy draft pick. But it's usually what W'peg gives up to get players, if not Hayes then Stastny. W'peg only has 4 pix.

5th round pick is around a 5-7% chance to actually make it to the NHL. This is not even news worthy.

Fair deal, the Jets got a prospect that will probably never play in the NHL and the Flyers (If Hayes signs) got a bad contract they'll regret for years

That sums it up. They will over pay and give to much term. Win for Jets and lose for the Flyers.

So capfriendly shouldn't report it?
Also, the Red Wings disagree.

it's more the point that this is a nothing of a trade. They gave up nothing to really get nothing.

I imagine either Trouba or Myers in staying. With all of the Trouba rumours or there, Myers is likely staying

LMFAO, bad contract? You don't have a fking clue what he will sign for! Anything $6.5 mil or less is a nice contract and that is likely where it will be.

6.5×6 for a 3rd line C is not that nice for me, but if it's nice for them 🤷🏻‍♂️

6.5 Million for 50 points? That's not very good dude. Atleast you guys have yourselves a fringe 2nd line center (if he signs). Anything over 5.5 Million and it's an overpayment.

Hayes at best is a fringe 2nd line center. He is a good 3rd line center in the league. That's what Hayes is

I'm not going to deny it, I'm just saying my opinion. This year he showed he is capable of that, he is going to be paid because of his production this year. Hence the high risk he becomes a high risk contract. If he can continue his pace, he can be a good 2nd line center.
