Trades
1.
TOR
    Rights to Fredrick Anderson
    Rights to Sami Vatanen

Anaheim already has Gibson so Anderson is up for grabs plus Vatanen does not fit Carlyles's style. Anaheim saves themselves from signing these 2 so they have extra cap for FA.

The reason Arizona has Pronger is because its a 5M cap hit but only $575, 000 in actual salary. They are not trading that contract which helps them get to the cap floor for nothing. You are way over-valuing Bernier and way over paying all the leafs prospects.

Agree with Anaheim trade good value for both and your right about Vatanen he's too skilled and has too much hockey sense to play Carlyle's dump and chase if we only had Colton Orr and Frazer McLean on the roster he probably would have taken them instead of the 2nds.

Like the Ducks trade. The Ducks might be looking for some more immediate help at forward than the 2 second rounders so maybe Leivo (as you suggested) Lindberg, Leipsic or Brown might be a better fit.\
If the Leafs obtained Andersen and signed (gotta believe he gets more money than Bernier), the Leafs could trade Bernier. Again the return isn't so important especially if you're not taking back bad money in return.
Yes, Calgary seems like a good spot....maybe even for a 7th rounder. Be kinda "funny" if Reimer signed as UFA with Calgary and they also traded for Bernier.
