This would be a perfect scenario IMO. Does anyone know if it’s common for two teams to make multiple trades in 1 offseason?

w/ Brock Nelson already signing an extension for 6 years at a $6M AAV I think Hayes will get something in the 5-6 year range at $6.5-6.75M. I honestly think Fletcher acquired his rights because that's the guy they want at 2C and he'll pay the premium to avoid Hayes testing free agency.

Evolving Wild projected him getting $5.8over 6 yrs. with the Nelson signing $6 is probably more likely, I don’t think he’ll get more than Nelson though.

Toronto could ultimately sign him and trade him for more than a 2nd rounder, no? We haven't had offersheets in so long that I truly don't know what teams motives are if they can't keep the players. I feel like Kap could probably pull a first or a level prospect for him. Also the deal for Trouba seems like good value and not a ton of cap space going back to WPG, smart deal for both teams. Sanheim might want more, but the bridge deal is fair and sets him up for a good contract in 2022

The Hayes trade was probably done with a potential Trouba deal in mind and it may give the Flyers the inside edge. If Philly signs him to a contract before FA it gives them more flexibility in making other roster moves. The deal you proposed seems fair and probably along the lines of what Winnipeg would accept. My only change would be delete Allison and just make it a 3rd round pick.

It would also allow Chevy to save face on the deadline deal he made, so the net would be Trouba, Lemieux and the 20th overall for Haag Rubstov, the 11th overall, a 3rd and a 5th round pick.
