What is that Vancouver trade? Johnson and Rust for Eriksson? Not even if Eriksson had 50% retention...

anything to send JJ as far away as possible. We lose Rusty but get some cap back

Eriksson at $6M is so much worse than Johnson.

You also don't get cap back because you are moving 2-for-1. Rust and Johnson are $6.75M, Eriksson is $6M, netting $750K less, but you still need to fill that second roster spot with that $750K.

very true, which was actually my logic when trading two players for 1 to other teams but did not use the same logic coming back for the penguins. More less seeing which teams could take on JJ and send back a different player. I was initally going to take the Turris contract because I don't think he is bad just had a rough, injured season but didn't think NSH would take Rust+JJ for him.

I'd rather have Turris than Eriksson, but in reality, I don't want either for $6M.
